Opioid use tapers in medicinal cannabis users

Could this be a solution to the opioid epidemic?

More than half of adults surveyed using medicinal cannabis to treat chronic pain reported decreased opioid use. 31% of adults with chronic pain in a survey of 1661 people used medicinal cannabis to treat their pain.

As a result over half of these indicated that they reduced their reliance on other pain relief including opioids.

This represents another opportunity for the medicinal cannabis industry to position itself as a possible solution to the opioid epidemic that is estimated to have cost $15.7 Billion in Australia alone.
